My background is in database design and development, so I am excited about offering truly custom applications on the Wordpress platform.

A little about me...

Personal:
In 2004 I moved from Santa Cruz, CA, to 25 acres on Whidbey Island with my wife, Jane, and lots of rescued goats, chickens, cats and dogs.  In 2009 we were joined by Jane's daughter, Annie, and her two (now teenage)  daughters.  I am lucky to enjoy a balance between working on my computer, in our garden and on the land, as well as participating in my granddaughters' growth and education. 

Professional: 
I have an MBA and a Masters in Education and Psychology.  My teaching career focused on Special Education; my business career focused on business systems architecture, database design and project management.  Much of my IT work was as a consultant/contractor in Silicon Valley for major corporations such as Oracle, Sun Microsystems and Lockheed, as well as with various startups.  I have spent about 20 years in each of these two professions, switching back and forth as circumstances dictated.  I am currently offering my services in both Web Development and Teaching.
